I believe that I will be able to use this in my class quite effectively.
I can offer it an an option for students to be able to respond to specific questions I have put forth to the class. Students will be able to post comments, links etc. in addition to responding to other students' posts if applicable.
I believe that I could also use this as an option for students to ask questions to me and/or to their peers about anything in class.
I could have students create a blog as their medium to put forth their project or research on a topic for the class to see. It would provide a great opportunity for students when giving feedback to the presenter.
Finally this could be just a section where students can go (where I would be able to monitor) that gives them the space to converse about things freely.

I like your idea about using blogs in your classroom as a tool for research projects. I like the idea of having students comment on the research your students have collected. It can allow them to pose questions or comment on things that they find interesting. It's a great tool to get your students interacting with one another!
ReplyDeleteLindsey,
ReplyDeleteI especially like the idea of having the students use their blog to report on a research project. They could get feedback from their classmates during the process as well as when it is finished.
Dr. Burgos
I like the idea of having kids do peer-reviews along the way on others' work. We did things like that in college (but with pen/paper) and I think it helped to get us thinking about our own writings. Thanks for helping me see the obvious!
ReplyDeleteI liked the idea of just having a space for kids to communicate. It could be creative for them, and a teacher may be surprised what they will discuss.
ReplyDeletep.s didn't mean to duplicate your idea about the research papers, but I'm teaching a research class now and was reading about research being a process. so, I obviously liked that idea too.
I think that having a space for students to feel open about asking questions to each other and to their teacher is a great idea. Whether they are reflecting on a discussion from class or need some help with a research project, open communication is always key. It is so true that education takes place outside of the classroom too and I think that having a Blog that would allow students to express themselves would be a wonderful educational tool.
ReplyDeleteUsing blog so that students can ask the teacher questions, especially when the student is absent is a good way to keep students interacting with what goes on in class.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good idea to use a blog so that students can ask questions to the teacher and their peer students. Even when they are absent, there should not be any excuse that he/she didn't know what to do. Good job with how you would use blogs in your classroom.
